Gameplay Systems
One of my proudest achievements thus far has been creating efficient, robust dialogue and inventory systems. I built, modular, data-driven tools supported by easily editable spreadsheets that allowed me to define item behavior, balance individual statistics, and write NPC dialogue all from single sources. This streamlined the iteration of new content and reduced the amount of manual work required to add new content.
Combat System
Balancing the fast-paced exploration and puzzle solving of the sweeper floor and the turn-based combat was no easy task. It took countless hours of refinement and rewriting to become satisfying while keeping the pace of the sweeper gameplay. That and creating a system that rewards risk and resource management, integrating different spell, weapon, and armor types makes this a robust and entertaining gameplay loop.
